The Fanbrella – An Umbrella That Screens & Fans You

Say goodbye to sweltering summers thanks to the Fanbrella.

The novel umbrella screens you from the blistering sun while a motorized fan blows a refreshing breeze to keep you looking cool and comfortable.

The Fanbrella features an in-built motorized fan & UV-reflecting canopy which creates a cool carry-along sanctuary on sizzling summer days.

A button located on the bottom of the umbrella handle turns on a quiet 3-blade fan under the Fanbrella canopy that operates at 650 rpm to generate a cool downdraft. The blades of the fan collapse along the Fanbrella’s shaft.

The roomy polyester canopy is 57 1/2″ in diameter and has a PVC backing which blocks 98.6 per cent of harmful ultra violet rays.

Equally effective against rainfall, the umbrella’s shaft & ribs are plastic, offering sturdy support and will not catch rust like metal.

6 AA batteries are needed to keep the fan continuously operating for 5 ½ hours.

The Fanbrella is priced at $79.95.

‘Magic Emotion’ Glasses That Reveal Your Inner Feelings

Yunfan Tan, a young Shanghai designer created a concept eyewear that helps people express their emotions and adds an element of fun to face-to-face communication.

21-year-old Yunfan Tan’s design, Magic Emotion Concept Eyewear, features an LED-impregnated transparent band of material known as lightform that makes your face look like an emoticon by showing changing eyebrow shapes & expressions to represent your inner feelings.

The lightform eyewear would read a person’s emotions by means of a microdetector implanted in the glasses’ armature, monitoring their blood pressure, pulse and muscle contractions.

According to Yunfan Tan, when people communicate online, they always employ vivid character-expressions. However, in the real world, it appears that people usually are not very good at conveying their feelings which results in misunderstanding and obstacles to communication.

‘Magic Emotion’ LED eyewear was designed to make known your feelings to others by bringing screen-based animated expressions into real life.

The 3D Chocolate Printer Crafts Designs in Chocolate

Chocoholics will soon be able to design & reproduce their very own 3D creations in chocolate thanks to a new technology by UK scientists.

University of Exeter researchers have developed a 3D printer that prints using chocolate.

Many retailers have already shown keen interest in taking on the 3D printer.

3D printing utilizing plastic & metal is already extensively used in industry to expedite design work.

Chocolate printing begins with a flat cross-section image, and then the 3D shape is built by printing chocolate, layer by layer.

Once a layer is done, it solidifies & the printer moves on to the next layer.

Researchers are looking forward to an online retail business hosting a website for people to upload their 3D designs for 3D printing & delivery.

The ultimate aim is to have the 3D chocolate printer available to consumers, so that they could go to a store with their creation & print out a delicious chocolate treat to gift a loved one.
