The Eye Slack Haruka Eliminates Baggy Eyes

The Eye Slack Haruka promises to reduce unsightly under-eye baggage. Wearing the Japanese-designed eye massager under the eyes for 3 minutes every day reportedly gets rid of sagging under-eye skin.

Wearers can select from 2 operating modes – hard or soft. The hard mode generates mild electric stimulation, while the soft mode generates gentle micro-currents to fight under-eye slack.

The eye massager’s gentle heat and vibrations supposedly take years off you.

The Eye Slack Haruka is powered by 2 CR2032 batteries, weighs 30g and costs $132.

Japan Offers 10,000 Free Flight Tickets To Boost Tourism

Next year, Japan is offering 10,000 round-trip plane tickets free to foreigners to promote its beleaguered tourism industry that was severely hit by the twin disasters this March.

The giveaway will probably start in April 2011, subject to final government approval.

The Japan National Tourism Agency plans on putting up a website where prospective travelers can submit applications for free airfare.

Interested visitors will have to give detailed travel plans and explain what their expectations are regarding their visit to Japan.

Participants will, however, have to shoulder lodging, food & ancillary expenses.

Besides, they will also have to write a report after completing their trip & post it online, to help in spreading the word that Japan is now a safe travel destination.

Japan’s tourism was badly affected following a catastrophic earthquake & tsunami that triggered a nuclear crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi Power plant.

Japanese Restaurant Blames Australian Beef for E. coli

Beef_kebabs

Australian beef is coming under the scanner after a popular Japanese diner claimed it was to be held responsible for an E.coli outbreak in Japan.

However, the Australian meat industry maintains it might have been lettuce, beef or pork from any other country.

After eating at Gyukaka – a popular Korean-themed barbecue restaurant chain, 20 people have taken ill  in Toyama prefecture; 15 of them were found to be infected with the deadly O157 strain of E.coli.

REINS International, the operators of this restaurant chain, said they believed the source of the infections to be imported Aussie beef.

The company stated it had changed its Aussie beef supplier, but public health authorities did not find any E. coli bacteria at the affected restaurant.

Nearly 40% of Australia’s beef exports are sent to Japan.
