A fake diet advising dieters to eat frankfurters for dinner has duped thousands.
The fat-fighting tactic — falsely labeled the ‘British Heart Foundation diet’ — is a 3-day low calorie diet plan that claims to help slimmers shed 10lbs by adopting tasteless meal plans. The Frankfurter diet plan involves measuring out cups of cauliflower, string beans and tuna and drinking coffee and black tea.
The ‘Official BHF diet’, circulated on a number of websites, provides recommendations for breakfast, lunch & dinner for 3 days.
It claims that it’s a proven and a 100% non-risk diet and that followers will shed pounds ‘through chemical breakdown’.
The British Heart Foundation issued a warning to dieters to keep away from the sham online diet plan after claims that it had endorsed the regimen.
The BHF called it a “faddy crash diet” that could leave people devoid of essential nutrients.
People who have tried the frankfurter diet complained of bad headaches and a feeling of wooziness.
Apart from being totally unappetizing with meal suggestions involving having 2 frankfurters with 1 cup of cabbage & ½ cup of carrots followed by vanilla ice-cream, this bogus diet plan is so restrictive with regard to the range & quantity of food that it’s deficient in a number of essential nutrients required for staying healthy.
The lack of fiber implies that followers may develop constipation and in the long term may also lead to iron & calcium deficiency, which can lead to brittle bones & teeth & feeling constantly lethargic and tired if left unchecked.
Rather than helping people help shed fat, this kind of quick-fix diet results in most people losing largely water & some muscle.
The BHF is completely clueless about who invented & circulated the frankfurter diet plan, but over the past couple of months, thousands of people are thought to have tried this crash diet.
